Posting & managing slots

A slot is a specific date + time + stage at your venue that's available for a band to play. Slots are the unit of booking on Hedliner.

Slot statuses

  • open — accepting applications.
  • booked — a band is confirmed.
  • cancelled — show was cancelled. Slot is preserved for history.
  • past — show date has passed. Appears in /dashboard/history.

Posting an open slot

  1. From /dashboard, click Open slot.
  2. Pick a date and stage.
  3. Adjust: doors time, set start/end times, sound engineer cost, slot cost (the guarantee, optional). Open slot defaults pre-fill these.
  4. Optionally add notes that show up to bands while applying.
  5. Click Post. The slot is live and bands can apply.

Recurring slots

For weekly bookings (Open Mic Tuesdays, Friday residency, etc.) set up a recurring template in /dashboard/venue/recurring. The system generates open slots out as far as you tell it to.

Posting an event directly (no application)

If you've already booked a band off-platform, you can post the slot as a confirmed event from /dashboard/slots: create the slot, then assign the band(s) directly. Useful for shows you sourced privately but want on your public calendar.

Multi-band shows

A single slot can have multiple performers (headliner, support, openers). Add them in order from the slot detail page — the order is what shows publicly. Each performer can be linked to a real band profile or added as a free-text name for one-off acts.

Cancelling a slot

From the slot detail page click Cancel. If the slot was booked, the band is emailed. Cancelled slots stay in your history.
